My name is Aidan Terry and I am 14 years old and in the ninth grade at Dunn School in Los Olivos, California, USA. I have been doing artwork since I was three years old. My primary medium is pencil. I also work in charcoal, chalk pastels, colored oil pencils, and sometimes paint.

I have been asked to do lots of different types of artwork since I was about seven years old. I illustrated a children's story. I learned how to draw caricatures when I was eight from Frank Urbaniak , a great artist who lives near San Francisco. I have a part time business now doing caricatures of people at special events like parties, bar mitzvahs, and business openings.

When I was nine I took an animation class from John Teton of Earthlight Pictures in Santa Barbara, California, and I have been doing it ever since. I completed a short animated film in December of 2004 and it has been selected for screening at the 2005 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the 2005 Danville Children's International Film Festival, the 2005 International Student Film Festival, the 2005 Kalamazoo Animation Festival International, the 2005 Ottawa International Animation Festival, the 2005 Chicago International Children's Film Festival, 2006 East Lansing Children's Film Festival, the 2006 Melbourne International Children's Film Festival, and the 2007 Platform International Animation Festival (Portland)

My animation studio is called apt animation. My second film, Some Like It Heavy, another hand drawn animation, was completed in January 2007 and has been selected for screening at the 2007 International Student Film Festival, 2007 Danville Children's International Film Festival, 2007 San Francisco International Children's Film Festival, 2007 San Diego International Children's Film Festival,2007 Seattle International Film Festival Futurewave ,2007 Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival, 2007 Li'l Longbaugh Film Festival (Portland), 2007 Chicago International Children's Film Festival, 2007 California International Animation Festival , 2007 International Student Film Festival Hollywood

I also do more formal artwork like portraits and life drawings, sketches, and animation character design, especially super heroes. I also like to do theatrical make-up. I began street painting in 2006 and have since been comissioned to do 4'x7' challk drawings at the 2006 and 2007 Santa Barbara I Madonnari Festival at the Santa Barbara Mission.

Besides artwork, I like to play with my dogs and cats, ride and gather cattle with my family, and take fencing lessons. I studied for 4 1/2 years under Captain Hart Kait, a World War II hero who was one of the best to ever fence in competition all over the world. My last lesson with him was the day before he died on his 96th birthday. I love to watch classic films like The Phantom of the Opera with Lon Chaney, Sr. , all the Universal monster films, Abbot and Costello, and classic animation, from the Looney Toons and Rocky and Bullwinkle to Toy Story and Spirited Away. I also like to go to school because the teachers are great and it is always fun and welcoming there.
