I am the mascot for my school and I make appearances as the mascot at games and school functions. Our mascot is an earwig. I designed a costume from scratch that could be used. The pictures below show how the process works. First I made sketches, then I refined the sketches. After that I started working with a great artist over the internet who designs and makes mascot costumes. His name is Dale Morton. He made sketches based on my drawings, and once we agreed on a final product he made the head and tail. My mom, the school director Linda Smith and I made the costume. Finally, another artist friend, Mike Shea, who is a movie special effects artist, helped us make the final leg and arm coverings. The whole process took about three months.
